Kirkjuvagr Orkney Foy - 2024 Special Edition - 50cl
Music is the beating heart of Orkney, a constant of island life for generations. Tunes connect us with our past, uniting old and young in an aural celebration of what it is to be Orcadian. Our love of music is also the foundation for friendships that span the globe, and the catalyst for many of our wonderful festivals. This special edition of Orkney Distilling’s Kirkjuvagr gin pays homage to the traditional island Foy, an eagerly anticipated night of music and entertainment.
We are proudly donating a part of the proceeds from sales of Orkney Foy gin to the Orkney Folk Festival, ensuring the future of this internationally renowned community event.
Tasting Notes:
Citrus notes from Calamondin complement a melody of locally grown botanicals, including Angelica, Aronia, Borage, Meadowsweet, Burnet Rose, Ramanas Rose and Elderflower. We’ve got some woody tones in there too.
Perfect Serve:
We recommend to serve Foy over ice, with your favourite Indian tonic and garnish with fresh orange peel. Enjoy with a good tune!
Full-bodied and remarkably smooth, it combines vibrant juniper and pine with notes of dried fruit and toasted oak. Subtle smokiness adds depth, while the long, warming finish lingers with hints of liquorice, and sweet spice.
While our Barrel Aged Navy Strength Gin is exceptionally versatile and can be enjoyed neat or over ice, we recommend serving it as an Old Fashioned cocktail. You will need:
• 50ml Barrel Aged Navy Strength Gin
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp water
• Orange peel, for garnish
• Soda water (optional)
Method
Add the sugar, water and bitters to a glass and muddle gently until the sugar begins to dissolve. Fill the glass with ice, add the gin, and stir until well chilled. Express the oils from a fresh strip of orange peel over the drink and use as a garnish. Finish with a small dash of soda water if desired.
